Course Information
This apprenticeship is designed to develop new and aspiring SHE officers / technicians working with management and delivery teams to advise on and improve standards for statutory health, safety and environmental requirements.
Course Overview
The Level 3 Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Technician apprenticeship equips learners with the knowledge, skills, and practical experience required to support effective health, safety, and environmental management in the workplace.
This programme is for individuals working across a variety of sectors who are responsible for implementing and monitoring safety procedures, promoting compliance, and encouraging a culture of risk awareness. Apprentices will develop expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment, accident investigation, and environmental management, alongside understanding legal frameworks and industry best practices.
Through a blend of classroom learning and on-the-job experience, learners will gain competence in producing safety reports, contributing to policy development, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
By the end of the apprenticeship, participants will be capable of operating confidently as SHE technicians, helping organisations maintain safe, compliant, and environmentally responsible working environments whilst progressing their careers in health, safety, and environmental management.

Funding Options
Funding is available via the Apprenticeship Levy and Digital Account System.
An employer contribution of 5% of the standard cost may be required depending on levy funds available and your business size.
End Point Assessment
The EPA consists of 3 assessment methods:
- Knowledge test graded fail, pass or distinction
- Project report and presentation with questioning
- Professional discussion underpinned by portfolio of evidence
