Course Information

This apprenticeship develops new and existing multi-skilled maintenance technicians within the mechatronics engineering sector, providing the business with an effective team member within the maintenance function.

Course Overview

The Level 3 Mechatronics Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship equips learners with advanced skills in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of complex automated and electromechanical systems. 


This programme combines theoretical knowledge with practical, hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical, and electronic disciplines, enabling apprentices to work effectively in modern manufacturing and industrial environments. 


Learners will develop expertise in diagnosing faults, maintaining machinery, and implementing preventive maintenance strategies to ensure optimal system performance and safety compliance. 


The course covers control systems, robotics, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and instrumentation, enabling a deep understanding of integrated mechatronic systems. 


Apprentices will also enhance problem-solving, analytical, and teamwork skills, preparing them to respond to the evolving demands of industrial automation. 


On completion, apprentices are capable of maintaining high standards of operational efficiency, reliability, and safety, ready to contribute as skilled mechatronics maintenance technicians in a variety of industrial sectors.

Course Price

Fully funded or co-funded at £1300

Funding Options

Funding is available via the Apprenticeship Levy and Digital Account System.

An employer contribution of 5% of the standard cost may be required depending on levy funds available and your business size.

End Point Assessment

The EPA consists of 2 assessment methods:

- Assessment method 1 - observation with questions

- Assessment method 2 - interview underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
