This dual-discipline programme develops practical expertise in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining complex machinery, systems, and equipment, while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
Learners gain hands-on experience with fault-finding, preventive maintenance, and continuous improvement practices, supported by theoretical knowledge in engineering principles, electrical systems, and mechanical processes.
The apprenticeship also develops problem-solving, teamwork, and digital competency, reflecting the needs of today’s technologically advanced workplaces.

Funding Options
Funding is available via the Apprenticeship Levy and Digital Account System.
An employer contribution of 5% of the standard cost may be required depending on levy funds available and your business size.
End Point Assessment
The EPA consists of 3 assessment methods:
- Assessment method 1 - observation with questions
- Assessment method 2 - interview underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
- Assessment method 3 - multiple-choice test
