This apprenticeship equips individuals with practical skills and technical knowledge to support engineering and manufacturing processes, bridging the gap between theory and hands-on industry experience.

Course Overview

The Level 3 Engineering & Manufacturing Support Technician apprenticeship combines hands-on experience with industry-relevant theory, preparing apprentices to work effectively in modern engineering environments. 


Learners will develop competence in interpreting engineering drawings, using precision measurement tools, and understanding manufacturing processes, quality standards, and safety regulations. They will gain expertise in problem-solving, process improvement, and the use of engineering technology and software to support production. 


The apprenticeship also underlines effective communication, teamwork, and project management, ensuring apprentices can contribute confidently to engineering projects and operational goals. 


By the end of the programme, apprentices will be capable of supporting engineers in design, assembly, maintenance, and production activities, providing a strong foundation for career progression within the engineering and manufacturing sectors.

Course Price

Fully funded or co-funded at £1350

Funding Options

Funding is available via the Apprenticeship Levy and Digital Account System.

An employer contribution of 5% of the standard cost may be required depending on levy funds available and your business size.

End Point Assessment

The EPA consists of 2 assessment methods:

- Assessment method 1 - work-based report with presentation and questioning

- Assessment method 2 - interview underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
